BIOGRAPHY

​Michael Pineda is a Honduran-American singer, songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist that actively performs in the Chicagoland area. He performs with his own group, Michael Pineda Quartet, as well as with other bands such as Radio Free Honduras, Rosalba Valdez y Los Valientes, and more. Michael's mission is to use his mediums and musical platform to create meaningful change and spread positive messages that showcase all the sides of humanity. For him, music has been a channel for deep healing and connection, and he wants to help spread this channel to any and all who are willing to engage with it.

He pursued Business studies and a minor in Jazz Studies at Hope College where he was fortunate enough to be mentored by or study with incredible educators including Brian Coyle, Tony Monaco, Robert Hodson, Jeffery Shoup, Steve Talaga, Jordan VanHemert, and Lisa Sung. He was able to receive masterclasses from world-class musicians such as Benny Golson, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Dmitri Matheny, Gerard Gibbs, and Delfayo Marsalis, just to name a few. Currently, Michael dedicates a lot of time to studying, composing, and familiarizing himself with his instrument(s) - saxophone, guitar, and piano.

He is currently working on playing, recording, and releasing years worth of original music and collaborating with as many other artists and organizations as he can. In addition to pursuing his musical endeavors, one of Michael's long-term goals is to develop education structures in Honduras and build bridges that will create opportunity for countless individuals for generations to come.
